Wilhelmshütte

Wilhelmshütte (Nienburg, Germany) operated in the period 1891-1997. The glassworks (established as a subsidery of Stralau Glaswerk) manufactured bottles, container glass and glass fishing floats. The hand-blown glass buoys marked with an embossed 'W' in the house on the sealing button were produced in 3-10 inch sizes in diameter and of a variety of colors: amber, light green, bottle green, dark green. There is also a 'dog-neck' type of the fishing floats made at Wilhelmshütte and the ones we came across measure  9 inches long and 6 inches in diameter.
