Stranne & Oresten
According to the research made by Per Einar Gunnarsen (float collector from Norway) we now know that 'Stranne & Oresten' was a net making company established in the year 1935 in Gothenburg, Sweden. The company ordered glass fishing floats for its business from the 'Sveska Glasbruk AB' glassworks. 'Svenska Glasbruk AB' owned several glass manufacturies, maybe that is why we come across a variety of colors of the 'Stranne & Oresten' floats and three types of their trademarks, i.e. the 'Compass', the 'compass with the circular writing - 'Stranne Oresten' around it' and circular words 'Stranne & Oresten' on the sealing button. The 'Stranne & Oresten Company' glass floats that we came across are of beautiful emerald green, light green, light blue, clear colors. The sizes vary from 5 to 8 inches in diameter.
Per Einar's research on 'Stranne & Oresten' can be found at Tom Rizzo's online blog.
