Siemens/Grazer

Since the year 1888 there was a glass trading company in Germany called 'Aktiengesellschaft für Glasindustrie' formed by Friedrich Siemens. Different glassworks (subsideries of the company) manufactured bottles, pitchers, container glass, jars, glass for construction, glass fishing floats, etc.  Up until the end of the Second World War the glass products were made in great numbers by the company and in the year 1989 the company was dissolved.
'Grazer Glassworks' was established in 1890 in Gösting, Austria and manufactured glass bottles. In 1935 it became a sibsidery of the 'Aktiengesellschaft für Glasindustrie'. The trademarks of the Siemens' company seen on the glass floats are: stamped letter G, stamped letter S in the circle.
The information on this glass company is taken from 'Adressbuch der Glasindustrie, Jahrgang 1933, 1951' and 'Bottle makers and their marks' by Julian Toulouse.
