Santos Barosa - glass factory (Lisbon and Marinha Grande, Portugal) was established in 1889 and manufactured container glass, bottles and fishing floats. The trademark of the factory is 'SB'. This information is taken from the book by Julian H. Toulouse 'Bottle makers and their marks' (published in 1971) and 'Adressbuch der Glasindustrie, Jahrgang 1951'.

Glass fishing buoys produced at 'Santos Barosa' we came across are marked with the two embossed letters - 'SB' on side of glass and the number accompanied by 'cm'. These are two-piece molded glass floats and the ones we saw are of the green color and clear glass.

According to the information from Richard Carlsson, a collector from the US, the 'SB' marked floats come in 8, 9, 10 and 11 cm.

Moderate green glass 'SB 11 cm' marked float. Sized as 4,5 inches (11 cm) in diameter. Nylon netting. Resides in a private collection in the US.
