Cameleyre Freres

Pecheries Cameleyre Freres (the Cameleyre Brothers Fishery) was established in around 1919 by Henri and Vincent Cameleyre. The company was based in Arcachon, France. The business started with two wooden trawlers. In 1927 the fishery operated seven trawlers, one sardine boat and a tug boat. The business stopped its activity in 1960-s. The house flag of the fishery is diagonally divided from upper left corner to lower right one, the lower triangle being red with a white letter 'C', the upper triangle being with a blue letter 'F'. There is no information on the glass factory that manufactured glass fishing floats for the business. The information on the company is available at: http://crwflags.com/fotw/flags

The location of the marking on the glass fishing float is on the side of glass. The embossed words 'Cameleyre Freres Arcacon' written in the circular manner.

A 'Cameleyre Freres Arcachon' marked float. Green color. A very rare example to come across. A big thanks to Todd Marvik, a collector from the US for providing us with this picture.
